Lucas Tannahill

Lucas Tannahill

Born and raised in Owen Sound, Lucas long dreamed of becoming a lawyer in the Scenic City.  He graduated from Brock University in 2015 with Honours in Political Science and a Minor in German (2015), and completed the Integrated Practice Curriculum at Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law (2019).  He summered with Bruce Grey Child and Family Services, and completed his articles with Scheifele, Erskine & Renken in Meaford before being called to the Bar in 2019 and starting his practice under the guidance of Jane Robertson. He joined The Alliance in October, 2023.

Lucas’ practice has focused primarily on family law and child protection matters, though he also takes on a variety of civil litigation and criminal law cases. He most often appears before the Ontario Courts of Justice and Superior Courts of Justice in Owen Sound and Walkerton, and occasionally in Collingwood.

Lucas has spent significant time abroad, including a high school exchange in Berlin, a year studying at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden, and a year as a Teaching Assistant in Hamburg, Germany: experiences which lend an international perspective to his practice. He can even assist clients in German, if required.

When not at work, Lucas is often on the go with his wife Sara and their border collie Freya. He loves running, road cycling, the Owen Sound Attack, and enjoying the unmatched landscape of Grey and Bruce counties.
